Now is the time to start thinking about Bible verses for Christmas cards!
As the years go on, I find less and less references to the birth of our LORD at this time of year. And along with debates about whether or not we should say “Merry Christmas”, I feel that we need to bring Christ back into the centre of this season.
In Australia (where I live), it is very hard to find beautiful nativity scenes or characters. You can find cheap gimmicky ones in the variety stores, but by and large, Christians are not really catered for 🙁
This saddens me, as I’m sure it does you, too.
What can we do about it?
Well one thing we can do is send Christmas cards with bible verses on the front so when people display them, the gospel truth is staring them in the face!
Pray over your cards before you send them. Pray that the message you are sending doesn’t just sit on the shelf, but that it sows a seed in the heart of the recipient.
Yes, you are evangelising! (I call this soft evangelism.)
Anyway, below are some of my favourite Bible verse for Christmas cards… enjoy!
Cry out with joy…

But the angel reassured them, saying, “Don’t be afraid.

For there is peace and a good hope given to the sons of men
